South Beach Miami Hotel GuideLike almost any other Spring Break destination, where you stay is mainly determined by the width of your wallet or pocketbook. This section of our guide focuses exclusively on picking a South Beach Miami hotel. For those looking to go ultra-low budget, you may consider looking in Miami Beach or Downtown (just be aware that you should research the neighborhood carefully), though we encourage you to keep reading as there are some bargain South Beach Hotels to be found.
Picking Your South Beach Miami HotelLocated in the middle of the Art Deco district, and just a block away from the beach is the classic President Hotel (1427 Collins Ave.). This hotel was originally built in the 1930's, but underwent a complete upfit in the 1980's. It has a pool, bar, and restaurant on site. You'll find all the basics in this South Beach Miami hotel, but nothing much in the way of frills. But, you'll be able to walk to the clubs and the beach without worry about transportation. In other words, you'll be right in the middle of all the Spring Break action. For a few more bucks per night, and more privacy, you might also enjoy the Sherbrooke Hotel (901 Collins Ave.). Located within the center of South Beach night life (just a block away from Ocean Drive), this hotel is an art deco landmark that has been restored and made perfect for the budget-minded Spring Breaker who doesn't want to compromise on location. Hardwood floors, central air conditioning, and in-room kitchens make this South Beach Miami hotel perfect for Spring Break. Parking is limited, but you can park for $8 per day across the street. Note: During peak Spring Break weeks, a 4 or 7 night minimum stay may be required. Call for details. We also recommend budget-minders looking for a little more splurge to consider the Riande Continental Hotel (1825 Collins Avenue). With direct beach access and easy access to Lincoln Road, this South Beach Miami hotel is in the middle of the action, without the attitude. With a pool-side bar and a free breakfast, this place can make Spring Break a lot easier to experience. Crest Hotel Suites is a fantastic insider's find within South Beach. Located in the heart of the Art Deco District and close to all action on Lincoln Road, this South Beach Miami hotel combines the uber-modern feel of the city with all the Caribbean flavor of South Beach. All rooms are cosmopolitan in feel- with a living room/dining room area and kitchenette. The downstairs bar attracts a younger crowd not filled with the older hipster crowd found in the more exclusive spots along South Beach. A nice way to go for Spring Break in South Beach. Haddon Hall Hotel (1500 Collins Ave) is quickly positioning itself as a Spring Break South Beach magnet, especially with the major tour operators. Close to all the major South Beach attractions, this South Beach Miami hotel also has a kitchenette in every room along with a major sun deck and pool- complete with waterfall. Guest rooms are simple and modest in size, but they get the job done with a friendly and polite staff. You will notice that most of these hotels are not mega-resorts like those found in other major Spring Break destinations. This is the nature of South Beach- small and trendy hip places at every corner. Bigger resorts can be found along South Beach, Miami Beach, and Downtown, for those who must have luxury vacations- but you will be missing the ambiance of staying within South Beach.
