Cabo San Lucas Attraction
Guide
Cabo San Lucas, with its nearly
ideal climate during Spring Break high season, has a variety of
activities to keep you busy and energized during the sunlit
hours.
From parasailing above pristine beaches to cruising
among the amazing rock formations just off the coast, you and
your friends could do a different Cabo San Lucas attraction
every single day of the week. With activities both on the
beach and just away from it, you can stay amongst the crowds or
slip away for a more private experience!
Cabo ATV Rentals & Tours
Take
an amazing 25 mile journey through the area's ecological
reserve, via a network of connecting trails. You will
cross arroyos, traverse mountains and narrow canyons. Trails on
the Cabo San Lucas attraction are well marked and completely
away from public. We had a great time on our tour and
highly recommend it to Spring Breakers who want to go beyond the
beach and explore the Baja peninsula. We recommend
Desert
Park Tours, the owners and guides we both great, even for
novice riders like us! (Check out the video on their web
site for a sample of what you'll find.)
Cabo San Lucas Fishing
Cabo
and sport fishing simply go hand-in-hand. Known as the
"Marlin capital of the world," more of these big fish are caught
here than anywhere else in the world, Cabo has numerous (and
affordable) charter companies that will take you out and
guarantee you a half of full day of fishing fun. You'll
likely also see whales, dolphin, and seals while out on your
charter. This is one of Cabo's claims to fame, so even
novice fishermen will not want to miss the chance to fish these
famous waters. Get a group together and bargain for a
better-than-advertised price. Or, sign up as a single and
meet some new friends through this Cabo San Lucas attraction.
Food and drink are almost always included.
Surfing in Cabo San Lucas
Even
if you've never tried it, surfing is a major pastime in Cabo.
There are stretches of beach that offer plenty of lefts and
curls, with little to no waiting time between sets. If you
have no idea what that means, it's okay, because there is plenty
of instruction available for a reasonable price. Go for
either a half day or a whole day, you may just find yourself
hooked. Most trips include instruction, surf wax and board
rental, wet suit, round-trip transportation, and plenty of
snacks. Be sure your instruction is bilingual. You
should also be aware that most of the surfing beaches are not
within the city limits of Los Cabos, so there will be a bit of a
ride. It's well worth it, in our opinion for this Cabo San
Lucas attraction. Try
Baja Wild
for beginners and those who just want to catch a wave.
Cabo Cruises
Why
not get beyond the beach and explore Cabo from the water?
Numerous companies offer sunset cruises and infamous "booze
cruises" around the peninsula and the famous rock formations.
You and your friends can take the pictures that will make the
pals back home jealous. It's also a great way to begin a
pre-party before going out to Cabo's nightclubs. Look for
numerous deals during Spring Break advertised in your hotel or
out on the beach. For those looking for the extreme Cabo
San Lucas attraction, you can even go out on a pirate ship.
Cabo San Lucas Shopping
Looking
for an authentic souvenir to take back to your dorm room?
How about some designer jewelry or clothing? Luckily, Cabo
has a nice mix of both and a variety of different shopping
experiences. While downtown offers more
authentic Mexican gifts, the relatively new Puerto Paraiso Mall
caters to shoppers with more expensive taste. Locally made
pottery and sterling silver jewelry are popular items for
tourists to take home, at often bargain prices.
Boulevard Marina and the nearby streets that back up to the main
square make up Cabo San Lucas' main downtown shopping district.
Since the opening of Puerto Paraiso Mall, this Cabo San Lucas
attraction has become known as “Old Town” and offers a wide
variety of merchandise. Located by the harbor, Boulevard Marina
is good for browsing and finding unique items.
Hit the Beach
You'll
no doubt want to spend some part of your Cabo Spring Break down
on the beautiful beaches this area offers. The beaches
closest to you, however, will largely depend upon the hotel you
choose. Many hotels are just outside of downtown and,
therefore, have smaller beaches that do not connect to the more
popular beaches in town. This is not to say these beaches
are without a life of their own, you just need to be aware that
a day trip to people-watch on the biggest beach might require a
bit of transportation. Medano Beach is the major stretch
of sand you'll find other parties at , while in Cabo.
Check with your hotel to get the beach scene closest to you.
The people watching at this Cabo San Lucas attraction is not to
be missed!
Cabo Watersports
Catching
rays on the main beach in Cabo San Lucas is a people-watchers'
dream. El Médano, a short walk from downtown, is also a mecca
for watersports of all kinds. With usually calm waters, the bay
activities are a spectator sport alone. Various watercraft
cruise the beach, vying for position with the crowd.
Water-skiers bob and twist, Waverunners race amongst waves, and
parasailers scream from rainbow-colored chutes. In the distance,
you'll find graceful kayaks gliding towards Land's End. Glass
bottom boats shuttle revelers out to the arch, the end tip of
Baja California's 1,000-mile long peninsula. You can do
all of these Cabo San Lucas attractions and more, as your budget
allows.
Cabo Scuba & Snorkeling
The
waters that run along Cabo San Lucas are a marine
sanctuary and home to schools of triggerfish, anglefish,
goatfish, parrotfish, and more. There are plenty of coves and
inlets along the coast for you to explore and photograph. Pick
up a water-taxi at the Cabo San Lucas marina and ask to be taken
to Lover's Beach, near the arch, where you can snorkel, dive or
watch the sea lions. All eqipment is available for rental
and no experience is required.
For those looking for an underwater
Cabo San Lucas attraction, experience what Jacques
Cousteau and other underwater adventurers have described as “The
World’s Richest Sea-" the Sea of Cortez. The diversity in
fish and marine mammals that congregate here is unmatched
anywhere else in the earth’s ocean waters. Three major ocean
currents collide here to create the unique and varied life that
abounds in these fruitful waters. There are numerous dive
operators available to choose among, and you'll find most to be
friendly and accessible.
